Summer Visits

Summer has hit Wenatchee. In June, we had our annual dyeing party. This year, the focus was on using materials safely. We had been prepped about using correct googles & breathing masks. Some of us dyed spun yarn while others used fleece ready to spin.

In August, preparation for upcoming fiber events were the main focus.

Show & Tell

Creativity abounds with this group. There were towels, a shawl, handmade yarn using cut up socks (do I see a woven rug in the future), hand spun yarn made into a hat and even a breed study notebook.

Program

Recycling was the focus today. Debbie taught us how to make yarn out of plastic bags & old t-shirts.

2/3/18 Meeting

We had a great meeting this Saturday. Show and Tell is one of our favorite parts of the meeting. We had quite a variety. It ranged from a knitting project using yarn from the Annual Dog Party, hand spun hat (first hand spinning from a member), projects from the  studio (including a vertical warping board with a heck block), sheep breed shawl project, knitted shawl, a baby sling, rigid heddle scarves, and roving from Iceland.  If this doesn’t motivate you, I don’t know what will.

Our program was on our social presence. This website was explained to members. We also discussed Instagram, our closed Facebook group, and the open Facebook group. We looked at Ravelry to see how our guild library is being organized. At the end of the program, we shared various websites that we use. If you forget any of the sites, please click on the minutes.
